Late JAMMULA SRIRANGAM

Late JAMMULA SRIRANGAM was born in the year 1908 at MUNDAMARAI village of GANJAM DISTRICT (Odisha) .He studied till class 5th and later he entered politics during the time of our father of the nation MAHATMA GANDHI.

His father LATE .JAMMULA LOKANATHAM PATRO was a kind hearted person and was used to work for his village (Mundamarai) .

He donated his 500 acres land to the welfare of the people who were poor and needy.

He used to work for the Ganjam District Congress Committee for over 40 years and with the help of committee he used to help for the society. He used to feel inspired by Mahatma gandhi and Subhash chandra bose .

Wherever congress meetings held he used to participate in it. And he also attended Bangaluru and Bhubaneshwar (AICC)meetings .

And he used to join The Berhampur AICC meetings and he was remembered as a very great supporter behind it .

~He also used to have great relationships with our 1st Prime Minister Pandit .Jawaharlal Nehru .And our former president of India Sir V.V.GIRIand his father JOGYAPANDITILU ,ADAVALLI SANYASI RAO ,ADAVALLI RAMAMURTY, with these great freedom fighters he used to join the freedom struggle .

Later ,he joined in Naupada Satyagraha and he was been arrested and was prisioned at Ballari Jail for about 3 months .And he was been treated with many torchers and Later when he was been shifted to Rajamundry Jail he was also been punished and had Lathi charge by Police .

Whenever V.V.GIRI comes to berhampur, he used to visit SRIRANGAM NIWAS and used to spend time with him .

•At Baruva( presently near Srikakulam )

He Established some Shiva lingas at Kotilinga Alayam.

•Gopinatha Swamy Temple (Khaspa Street)

•Nilakantheshwar Temple

•Balunkeshwara Temple

•Kasi Vishwantham Temple (Mangalavarmpeta Street)

His hand behind this constructions are unforgotable for this society.

He was the great member behind the establishment of Sri Krishna Gosala(Aga street) and he saved and took care of that gosala throughout his life .

He used to love Drama and for the entertainment of the people he was used to make Drama shows as Khaspa street .

Besides These all , After the independence he used to be little bit aside form these all andHe was a great hardworking person behind the victory of Binayaka Acharya , Lingaraja Panigrahi and Vishwanath Das .

And former Chief Minister of Orissa (Now odisha) Sri.Harekrishna Mahatab appriciated him for his great work a for the freedom struggle and from then he was known as a "GREAT FREEDOM FIGHTER OF BERHAMPUR ".

He was not having any children and later he adopted his brothers Son and Daughters 

ON THOSE DAYS HE WAS A "GREAT JEWELLERY BUSINESS MAN OF BERHAMPUR"

And He Established "JAMMULA SRIRANGAM AND BROTHERS which was situated at Khaspa street and Chandramastreet junction .

He died at the age of 63 in the year 1971.
